Recent developments in the cleantech industry include a partnership for nationwide installation of water recycling systems, and a strategic partnership for the bio recycling of PET. French company Carbios and Danish firm Novozymes have announced a strategic partnership aimed at promoting the use of recycled plastics in the food packaging industry. The two companies will work together on developing and commercializing Carbios' enzyme-based technology for the recycling of plastics. This technology breaks down plastic waste into its building blocks, allowing for the creation of new, high-quality plastics. The partnership will focus on the production of recycled PET, a common plastic used in food packaging, in order to promote more sustainable packaging solutions for the food industry.
Hydraloop has partnered with Bowersox Investment Group to install the Hydraloop’s Labeled water recycling systems in sustainable communities built by Bowersox nationwide. The first joint project is a 140-home community in Clarksville, Georgia. The low-maintenance, IoT-connected systems can save up to 45% of total in-house tap water and can be installed in any residential real estate. Hydraloop Concealed, the newest product in the Hydraloop family, was awarded a CES 2023 Innovation Award in the Smart Home category.

Montreal-based Sollum Technologies has closed a $30m financing round, with $25m from Idealist Capital, a private equity manager that supports clean energy transition, and $5m from Fondaction, a Quebec partner of socially and environmentally responsible SMEs. Sollum provides greenhouse growers with programmable smart LED lighting that accurately replicates the sun's natural cycle. The technology allows for year-round local produce, with the company launching lighting fixtures to cater to diverse greenhouse growers in 2022. Sollum's CEO said the investment would help expand the company's competitiveness and spectral offerings. Idealist Capital and Fondaction expressed confidence in Sollum's technology, which they see as key to energy-efficient greenhouse operations and sustainable agriculture.
