Aarberg Food AG, a wholly owned subsidiary of Planetary SA, is searching for an experienced plant manager in the field of aerobic fermentation to lead the production team and all related activities at our 100kL+ production site in Aarberg (nearby Bern / Bienne). Amongst other organisms, planetary is growing mycoprotein from mycelium, a filamentous fungi grown in submerged continuous culture under aerobic conditions at industrial scale. In this role, you will ensure both the quality and COGS of the product produced, as well as the management and safety of the team on site (ca. 9 FTE). You will also be involved in the planning and installation of further CAPEX projects.

At the moment my only focus is on being able to bring the "KGM1" initiative (https://solarimpulse.com/solutions-explorer/kgm1) into TRL 7, creating and testing prototype n° 3, in order to understand the real potential of this new linear generation AWE technology. The conditions exist to create the most disruptive AWE generation technology, bringing the initiative to at least 10% of the value assigned to the Airborne Wind Energy business, i.e. 10 million euros, within two years of launch, but I can't anymore - alone - to take the project to a higher level. Therefore, I am willing to cede commercial control and manage only the technical part, under conditions to be defined and maintaining a minority shareholding percentage. A parallel objective will be to create the conditions to reward those who have contributed to the growth of the initiative with their "sweat for equity".

Your mission will be to support the development and optimization of our seed supplier portfolio, with a focus on hydroponics agriculture. This internship will provide hands-on experience in supplier management, seed performance testing, and database creation, offering a unique chance to work in an innovative and fast-growing company. Key Responsabilities: - Research and identify potential new seed suppliers specializing in hydroponic farming. - Enrich and optimize our current supplier database by collecting and analyzing key data (varieties offered, supplier capabilities, delivery times, costs, etc.). - Assist in seed performance testing and classification to evaluate the best varieties for our different systems. - Develop supplier relationships by establishing contact, obtaining seed samples, and coordinating trials of new varieties. - Collaborate with our R&D team to ensure the database reflects our operational needs and future goals. Candidate Profile: - Pursuing a degree in agricultural engineering, a specialization in trade, purchasing management, or a related field would be preferable. - Strong research and data management skills. - Excellent communication skills in English and organizational abilities. Interest in sustainable agriculture and hydroponics is a plus. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
