Since 2007, SonoAsh has worked to create a new, sustainable, twenty-first century narrative for Coal Ash. Coal Ash is one of the main ingredients in cement production. The world has an insatiable appetite for cement. The cement industry accounts for roughly 5% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions. One tonne of produced cement equals one tonne of CO2 in our atmosphere. Annual cement production is rising rapidly and is expected to surpass 4 billion tonnes per year by 2050. The SonoAsh process eliminates the C02 from Coal Ash, creating a superior building material for the cement industry with a low carbon footprint. The beneficiation of millions of tonnes of Coal Ash in storage contains solutions to a healthier environment and tangible greenhouse gas reductions.
