Capenergies

Capenergies is a french competitiveness Cluster adressing the topic of the energy transition for sustainable territories.

Capenergies is the largest French Pôle de Compétitivité dedicated to the energy transition, with more than 500 members, (80% of them are SMEs).


The Pôle has more than 10-years’ experience in promoting sustainable business growth and job creation by supporting its members to turn their ideas into tomorrow’s products and services to be released onto national and international markets, in three areas: sustainable low-carbon energy production, energy efficiency and smart energy management (smart energy grids and storage).


As a non-profit trade organisation, Capenergies is uniquely suited to foster collaborations across the private-public-academic landscape, as well as to provide its members with individual advice and coaching services in: access to public/private financing, technology-oriented advice, international business growth, IP advice, capacity building.


Since 2005, Capenergies has been able to support the scale-up of 577 innovative companies, whose 55% leveraged funds for almost €1 billion.


The Pôle covers the following geographical territories: Region South of France - Provence-Alpes-Côte-D’Azur (PACA), Principality of Monaco, as well as Corsica, Guadeloupe and Réunion islands.


At regional level, Capenergies is a member of the DIH Move2Digital.


At national level, Capenergies is a member of the recently established coalition between energy, mobility and ICT clusters called ‘Smart Energy Alliance’, which acts as a privileged interlocutor of the French government for any issue concerning the national industrial policy for new energy systems. Capenergies is also a member of the ThinkSmartGrids association, which federates all French stakeholders committed in both developing the smart grids value chain at national level and promoting the sector in Europe and across the world.


At European level, the cluster is in the driving seat of the European S3P platform on smart grids, providing technical support to the Region South of France.
