About

Kite Turbine Networks are a scalable way to extract wind power for low-cost, low-carbon energy. We propose to deliver a series of fully autonomous kite turbine prototypes up to 50kW. Production only requires a small workshop. The turbine working principle is mechanically autonomous. We are developing launch and land automation. We use a unique backline and network configuration for safer operation. The autogyro kite turbine performance has the best power / mass in Airborne Wind Energy. Manual launch, operation and recovery is easy under 2kW. We will be testing automated handling devices above 10kW. Because of the network blade deployment - Workshop facility requirement stays small as the systems scale. We are looking for partnership to develop the levels of autonomy necessary to operate the turbines at increased scale. Kite turbine networks have the best scaling and efficiency in Airborne Wind Energy. Kite turbine networks are the safest AWES design as there is no single point failure and no running line wear. They are also the only AWES with continuous rotary power output. The turbines are portable. (My son took one to scout camp) Kite turbines efficiently align tensile materials and mechanisms to the dynamic of wind energy conversion. This low-mass, high-energy design is the solution to unlocking wind energy potential. We want to harvest energy in the cleanest way possible.
