The technology that WAVENRG develops can be implemented in two versions:
A wave energy converter whose large-scale production could be very interesting for the production of hydrogen by electrolysis.
A floating tidal - wave energy converter for the offshore installation of large parks with a capacity of 250 to 500 MW.
The same float can be used for both versions. Only the length of the complete turbine with a vertical axis of rotation is different. The simplicity of the mechanical design reduces the number of possible failures and reduces the mass of the system. Since the generator of the device is located above the surface of the sea, all components for generating electricity and injecting electricity into the ground electricity network will come from wind turbines of equivalent power. Even in the event of a breakdown, there is no need to remove the generator from the seabed. As the system is floating, its installation costs at sea are lower than those installed on the seabed.
