About

Water Initiatives Nigeria (WIN) is a major water and sanitation NGO in Nigeria, providing access to safe drinking water and appropriate sanitation through result-oriented projects and services geared towards both urban and rural communities. We work and collaborate with different organizations, private enterprise, individuals to bring solutions to water problems in communities across Nigeria. The goal of the organization is to provide access to safe drinking water and appropriate sanitation for people in both rural and urban centers. Water Initiatives Nigeria is dedicated to the provision of access to safe drinking water and appropriate sanitation, which we believe, will strengthen sustainable future and lead towards social and economic improvements of the social communities at national level. In order to achieve this, Water Initiatives Nigeria is committed to work with different range of stakeholders in order to foster cooperation and joint work for achieving sustainable future through eradication of water borne diseases associated with lack of safe drinking water and appropriate sanitation. Our work is divided into four programmes Water and Sanitation (WASH), education and capacity building, public advocacy and direct water projects. We consider cooperation as necessary tool for development processes. Therefore, we maintain partnerships with different stakeholders, being aware of the importance of every single pillar: local communities, authorities, other organizations and individuals at national and international level. For example, we are one of the 3 host institutions for Project WET of the Water Education Foundation, USA in Nigeria taking water education to children and adults towards social and economic improvements. Our organization is also part of the Global Water Partnership (GWP) in Nigeria.
