About

In order to meet the environmental objectives set for 2050, it is essential to make our energy production based on real sustainable solutions. Currently, massive investments are made to develop and build renewable energy solutions like wind turbines and solar panels. Once their exploitation phase started, these solutions indeed provide an energy that is from a renewable source and do not release Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. But in order for a solution to be truly sustainable, all the phase of it's life cycle need to be taken into account. That's why it is important for our future to rely on energy solutions that actually produce way more energy during their life cycle than what is required for their sourcing, production and disposing/recycling phases. Moreover, it is important for a solution to be respectful of its direct environment and not impact the wildlife. VH quatrevingtreize was launched in 2017 with the conviction that a true sustainable future was possible. Therefore, we set the following environmental criteria for our products: - Production of renewable energy - Way more energy produced during the exploitation phase than the energy required for the production and the recycling phase - Environmental friendly and not harming the wildlife - Easy public acceptance We produce biosourced and fully recyclable hydropower solutions that can extract energy from : - rivers and estuaries - tide - Waves The technology is based on our patented soft blade Savonius rotor. the upside of this rotor is the fact that it can harvest energy from the different sources mentioned above and its efficiency is doubled compared to a classic Savonius rotor. Moreover, its slow and smooth rotation does not harm the fish or birds living in the exploitation area. It can even work as a wind turbine in order to produce hybrid sea solutions (wind/wave). This is the result of Stephan Guignard's research at Aix-Marseille University then the maturation of the technology with the SATT Sud-Est in France. this technology is labelled "greentech verte" and has won different innovator competitions. All our solutions are made from a local biosourced material which is a mix of pine needles and linen fiber. This material allows us to fully recycle our modules into new ones. The simplicity of the technology and its biosourced material allow our solutions to have an economic and energetic Return on Investment lower than 5 years. “Reflect on the motion of the waves, the flux and reflux, the ebb and flow of the tides. What is the ocean? An enormous force wasted. How silly the earth is not to make use of the ocean.” Victor Hugo (Quatre-vingt-treize, 1873)
