Valoops is a startup that upcycle end of life clothes into outdoor layout products.
About
In France, recycling share of end-of-life clothes is of 23%, for plastic waste it is of 25%, still far from the target set under the anti-waste law aiming 100% recycling in 2025.
VALOOPS is a startup working to help reduce the share of non-recycled wastes, by developing a process for transforming textile and plastic post-consumer wastes into a patented recycled high performance composite material ValDenim® , characterized by high technical performance than plastic and wood.
Final applications of this material are wide, the most relevant are those which replace the use of wood, an over-exploited material, suffering scarcity and becoming more and more expensive, in Europe, 25% of the wood used comes from illegal sources ( WWF France).
Under the same context of the possible applications as a replacement for wood, VALOOPS target products for laying out outdoor private spaces: decking boards, fencing, cladding.
