Urb-x is a Swiss start-up company founded by a group of engineers from ETH and experienced entrepreneurs with the vision to fundamentally reshape urban mobility.  Urb-x is going public on Sep 9th 2020. Our patented product is a modular lightweight building system to construct elevated, smart, safe and high-capacity bike highways. By its design the urb-x system allows for an easy and cost-effective unbundling of urban traffic flows, offering cities a solution to pressing traffic and environmental issues. Using state-of-the-art lightweight timber construction, applying modern and smart materials, packed with cutting-edge technology (5G, IOT, advanced sensoring) and software (machine learning, automated planning), a new type of traffic infrastructure is introduced to our cities.  Driven by several mega trends the bicycle is on the verge of becoming THE means of transportation of modern metropolitan dwellers. Urb-x bike highways provide a solution to quickly implement unified and future-proof bike highway networks in densely populated metropolitan areas. On top the wide use of sustainable, local materials will significantly contribute to achieve ambitious climate goals of modern cities. Since its inception 6 month ago, urb-x has achieved several milestones, most noteworthy: - European patent (EP20151413) pending - Established a partnership with Switzerland’s leading timber systems engineering company Häring AG - 1:1 construction of a first prototype - Secured a first client to build a first urb-x track of 2 to 3 km length - Assembled a team of passionate engineers and experienced business leaders - Exploratory and promising talks with various European city executives have shown serious interest in urb-x and led to an acceleration of our plans to upscale our business.
