About

The Seas We Love is an innovative and sustainable initiative, sponsored and promoted by the Mexican Caribbean Hotel Council, designed to solve the problem of sargassum on the beaches of the Mexican Caribbean. The initiative focuses on containing and collecting sargassum at sea, then using it for productive and sustainable use within a circular economy model. Instead of simply disposing of sargassum, The Seas We Love proposes its valorization as a 100% sustainable product. This is achieved by using advanced technologies to process sargassum and convert it into various products, such as biofuels, biofertilizers, biomaterials such as plastics, construction materials, and cosmetics, among others. In addition to mitigating the impact of sargassum in the Mexican Caribbean, the initiative has a social and community focus, working closely with local communities to create jobs and economic opportunities in the region.
