About

Sunstore Technologies Ltd is a spin-out company (Faculty of Engineering at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow) that has developed the world's most cost effective solar hybrid (bio-char) feeding station. The unit can perform 6 solar cycles and 10 bio-char cycles per 24 hour period, with each cycle producing 100 standard 330g portions of rice (or equivalent). The unit design is based on solar concentration using a new type of fresnel lens integrated with a 'firetray'. The lens tracks the sun during an 8 hour cycle using the principles of a 'Roman' water clock that can filter up to 300 litres of polluted water. If used 24/7 the unit can displace up to 40 tonnes of CO2 per annum.
