About

Summit Nanotech is a Canadian based startup company that has developed a green lithium extraction technology to support the growing electric vehicle revolution. By reducing costs of lithium extraction and improving the environmental impact of this type of mining, Summit Nanotech is allowing EV adoption to be more affordable for the middle class and is directly impacting the full cycle sustainability of driving an EV. Summit’s proprietary extraction process was inspired by the human kidney and therefore encompasses the elegance of mother nature in its design. Using Summit’s technology, fresh water consumption is eliminated, land use area is reduced by 26x, chemical waste is reduced by 90% and GHG emissions are cut in half compared to industrial averages. Summit Nanotech is setting new standards for the mining of lithium that surpasses government regulatory constraints and aligns with corporate ESG strategies. Indigenous communities that have long been impacted by environmental damage during the traditional lithium mining processes need new, sustainable mining technologies and practices which are supported and endorsed by corporations and governments. Lithium ion batteries do not only support the growing EV sector, they are also important to develop and sustain a base load of renewable energy storage for solar and wind projects. Furthermore, the addition of lithium production as a secondary revenue stream for geothermal operations makes geothermal energy creation more affordable and broadens feasibility. Lithium ion batteries are an important part of the clean energy transition and sustainable extraction methods play an increasingly significant role in counteracting climate change globally.
