The SonoAsh patented technology is globally applicable, it enables a new rural, waste-to-value industry capable of producing an in demand multi-product matrix.
SonoAsh has six (6) granted patents surrounding the upgrading of waste coal ash from coal fired power plants. Today, where coal ash is within spec, it is a cementitious ingredient in modern day cement mixtures. Where ash is out of spec, it is waste and stored in lagoons, impoundments and pits, an environmental reality in every country amplifying associated social economic implications. There are well over 3 billion tonnes in storage in the US alone, yet ash is imported into both coasts.
The SonoAsh process enables waste coal ash to be upgraded into a matrix of high value products, the largest fraction is a low carbon, cement replacement product, ideal for high performance cement applications. Other products include strategic metals, rare earth elements, carbon abrasives, cenospheres and in the future, associated carbon offset credits. The SonoAsh patented process creates a decarbonized building material for the infrastructure needs of tomorrow. The beneficiation of millions of tonnes of waste coal ash in storage contains solutions to a healthier environment, new industries in rural communities and tangible greenhouse gas reductions.
