Industrial processes are responsible for one fifth of the CO2 emissions worldwide send to the atmosphere. These emissions generated by expensive and pollutant fossil fuels, need to be reduced, as mentioned in the target 9.4 of the United Nations development goals. To reduce these emissions, and cut energy costs, Solatom has designed the first solar boiler to produce heat for the industries (in the form of steam, hot water, hot oil or hot air). These solar boilers design allow for modular, transportable and economic solar power plants for heat generation. Its technology is proved in 9 so far. Solatom’s solution substitutes the burning of fossil fuels, thus eliminating emissions and cutting energy costs by up to 42%. The international Mission Innovation Platform ( has estimated Solatom's potential for CO2 emissions savings in 68 million tons of CO2 per year, making Solatom the first Spanish solution, and the sixth worldwide in its ranking for innovation solutions for climate change.
