ODYSSEY relies on the construction of a digital twin of the energy system. This energy system can be multi-energies (electricity, gas ,hydrogen, heat), multi-technologies (production, transformation, storage) and multi-application (clean mobility, self-consumption, etc.). The digital twin is an assembly of models of the components constituting the energy system. ODYSSEY can then perform dynamic simulations of the system (simulation horizon of several years on a minute or hourly time step). The results are used to compute technical, economic and environmental performances indicators (use rate of renewable, load satisfaction rate, total expenses over the system operation, VAN, payback time, etc.). An optimization module based on Artificial Intelligence is connected to the simulation engine in order to optimize simultaneously the components sizing and the system operating strategy. The feasibility studies realized with ODYSSEY are key elements in the decision making process for investing in new energy systems. Applications were ODYSSEY has been involved are many such as : - single and collaborative self-consumption with storage (PV, Li-ion batteries) - powering of off-grid sites (PV, wind turbines, batteries, hydrogen) - decarbonized mobility (electric, hydrogen and bio-CNG vehicles) - heating and cooling networks (geothermal source, heat pump)
