About

To meet global decarbonization targets, the world needs to reduce its reliance on fossil fuels and invest in renewable energy infrastructure. The future energy mix will have to drastically shift towards utility-scale offshore wind power generation. The current offshore wind industry, especially floating, still faces significant technical and economic challenges. We have the answer to these challenges: the Seawind floating wind turbines. The potential of the offshore market is huge, 80% of which is floating, with over 1500 GW projected to be installed by 2050. Seawind’s technology has a solid pedigree starting with R&D delivered by NASA and United Technology Company. Our operational 1.5 MW wind turbine prototype in Italy proved the effectiveness of our technology. It has been improved over the years to achieve Technology Qualification in December 2019 with DNV for our 6.2 and 12.2 MW turbines. We have also developed our own floating structure which raises the benefits of our integrated floating wind turbine system even further. Seawind’s DNA is to develop affordable green energy solutions. At the heart of our wind turbine technology, there is a flexible joint between the rotor and the shaft, which makes the system simpler, flexible, and more robust compared to the state-of-the-art 3-bladed technology. With our 25-35% energy cost advantage compared to our competitors, Seawind is the ideal solution for floating configurations and will contribute to unlocking the green hydrogen value chain. Today, investors have the unique opportunity to invest in Seawind and make a difference for our planet. The funds will be used to demonstrate our scaled-up technology by building and operating our demonstrator Seawind 6 and pre-series Seawind 12. The commercial deployment will start in 2024-2025.
