About

SeaBird was created in 2011 in order to limit the plastic pollution in the environment. The company is specialized in the research, development and production of bioplastic formulations that are biodegradable and compostable at the end of their life. Initially focused on marine sectors: fishing, aquaculture, shellfish farming, etc., the fields of application have diversified: cosmetics, hygiene, packaging. From bioplastics available on the market and according to specifications, SeaBird produces bioplastic compounds (granules) thanks to its pilot production workshop (production capacity of 200 tons per year). For this, we select suitable bioplastics (according to the desired properties) and blend them with additives and mineral or vegetable fillers, if necessary. These compounds are then used by transformers, industrials or partners to produce finished products, for example fishing nets, fishing crates, oyster cups, oyster mesh bags, etc.. After use, all these products are biodegradable and compostable in industrial composting conditions. If case of lost, they can biodegrade in the environment and are assimilated by the biomass in a few decades.
