About

Robomarts are fully electric road vehicles engineered with cutting-edge technology, including driverless tech for autonomy, teleoperations for safety, a checkout-free system for convenience, and purpose-built refrigeration for cooling. Founded in 2017 by serial entrepreneurs with deep domain expertise in on-demand delivery, retail operations, and autonomous vehicles, the company’s mission is to create the world’s most accessible grocery store.

Time is our most precious commodity. Yet data from the USDA, GSI MegaStudy, and ATUS show that Americans make over 24 million trips to the grocery store every day, driving an average 4 miles to their preferred store. They spend on average 53 minutes per trip and 70% of the time purchase fewer than 10 items, which equates to a combined total of 21 million hours - the equivalent of 2.5 millennia spent on grocery runs. All these car trips result in carbon pollution: over 17 million metric tons of CO2 come from car tailpipes just from driving back and forth to the grocery store.

Delivery held the promise of giving us back our time by having someone else pick and deliver our goods. However it not only takes a delivery driver the same amount of time - on average 53 minutes - to make a delivery on-demand, but the extremely high cost doesn’t justify the small added convenience. Morgan Stanley research shows that less than 2% of groceries are sold online in the US because 84% of consumers don’t trust someone else picking their fresh groceries especially when it comes to perishables like fruits and vegetables.

What if you could simply summon a mobile grocery store at the tap of a button, and pick fresh goods right at your doorstep, without having to drive to the store and wait in line or create a basket online and pay a high delivery fee? Robomart has built the world’s first driverless, fully electric, grocery store that gives consumers exactly that experience. Just tap a button and the grocery store comes to you, and when it arrives just take what you need without having to checkout. It is the first grocery store in the world that saves consumers time, while giving them the highest level of convenience and the ability to pick their own goods right at their doorstep.

Best of all, with Robomart they don't pay a delivery fee and by electrifying our fleet we reduce carbon emissions significantly.
