RiverRecycle, established in Helsinki in 2019, combats plastic pollution in the world’s rivers.
About
RiverRecycle's international team operates in seven countries, focusing on collecting and recycling plastic waste and floating debris. Through our innovative solutions, we support local communities by providing safe and fair job opportunities, and stimulating the economy.
The Riverrecycle solution is implemented through three development phases:
1) Clean a river
RiverRecycle installs a river cleaning system to halt the flow of plastic into the ocean.
2) Implement recycling operation
A recycling facility that can increase the value of flexible plastic packaging and other plastics that are not conventionally recycled is established. Our current recycled products are plastic boards.
3) Gradual transition to land-based collection
RiverRecycle will initiate a gradual transition to a comprehensive land-based collection system.
