About
Coffee has world’s highest GHG footprint in food, after meat and dairy. Coffee roasting alone, is responsible for 15 million tons of CO2/y. Current batch technology standard is invented 140 years ago, fossil fueled and energy-spilling.
With our background in industrial-scale energy efficiency and thermodynamics, we reinvented roasting technology: continuous slow-roasting, 3x more energy-efficient, 100% solar-powered. Zero-emission, economically favorable, superior quality standard. Applicable to coffee, cocoa, malt, granola, nuts...
As food(tech) is horribly conservative, and tech investment lock-ins strong, we created our own activist coffee brand to expose the problem and speed up the transition: Ray & Jules, the sunny kind of coffee.
Since our launch end of 2019, Ray & Jules has grown 20-fold through the corona and energy crisis. Our 20.000 heads strong 'customer-ambassador' army helps to spread the word. Slowly but surely, the industrial players are getting interested.
