At PierSight, we're on a mission to transform the maritime industry through cutting-edge technology. We understand the critical need for persistent surveillance over the world's oceans, and we have harnessed the power of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) + Automatic Identification System (AIS) satellites to provide unparalleled coverage at a fraction of the current data costs. Our Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites can operate in day-night and all weather conditions to monitor vessels and oil spills in the oceans. The AIS sensors record AIS signals transmitted from ships. The data from these sensors is analysed using advanced physics and AI/ML based techniques to derive insights that help improve regulations on Illegal, Unreported, Unregulated (IUU) Fishing, detect oil spills, and support cleanup efforts, as well as reduce emissions by helping ships navigate through complex waterways.
