Meanwhile, only a fraction of total Emission Trading Scheme transactions actually trickle down to the stakeholders and owners of carbon sinks, providing little incentive to protect or develop effective carbon sinks. OXÏ-ZEN provides clear economic incentives to promote, enhance and develop increase carbon sequestration, as an added value in order to achieve a planetary balance between emission and sequestration. Importance to HUMANITY A large part of disenfranchised Humanity live in remote and rural areas, disconnected from the global financial system with all its subsequent ramifications. By default, these communities are often the stakeholders of large terrestrial carbon sinks. By enabling the monetization of carbon sequestration capacity, these communities can generate income, which enables the realization of SDGs, while incentivizing them to protect and enhance their carbon sinks, resulting in increased bio-diversity and their quest for sustainable solutions. We are developing an exciting program for SIDS (Small Island Development States) called the Blue Economic Initiative, based on the monetization of marine carbon sequestration through their EEZs (Exclusive Economic Zones). Innovative FINANCE: OXÏ-ZEN acts as a catalyst for new eco-systems and localized business models through monetization of carbon sequestration capacity. By using an exclusive payment token on the platform, called a COOÏ, value transfers can be done direct, immediate and secure without any banks or 3rd party involvements. This is enabled through blockchain technology and allows previously disenfranchised social groups to gain access to financial means, take control of their destinies and realize their SDGs.
