About

60% of the cost and 85% of a road project’s carbon footprint are actually influenced by the choice of materials. However, historically, material sourcing for road construction has always been considered at the last stages of a project. Sourcing evaluations are complex and need deep-ground knowledge, but they are obtained through standardised designs based on assumptions and with little consideration for local material availability. This is where ORIS steps in: it brings a new approach to the entire ecosystem. ORIS is a cloud-based platform that gathers materials, information, and knowledge worldwide to make it accessible to all the stakeholders in the industry. They have the means to design sustainable infrastructure through relevant data and different scenarios to make informed decisions. Why has ORIS decided to use local resources based on circularity? It reduces the use of natural resources in infrastructure construction by up to 80%, and a project’s carbon footprint.
