About
OceanSky's most prestigious project is a planned trip from Longyearbyen Svalbard to the North Pole with a large scale hybrid airship with Robert Swan, Arctic Explorer and the first person to wander on both the North and South Pole. OceanSky's founders have solid background in the aerospace and transport industry and have among other things, been developing the european regional aviation cargo market. We have a passion for aviation as a journey and not as a transport and are driven by finding new, more sustainable alternatives in aviation and travel. To support new, ultra-efficient technologies such as LTA technology, hybrid airships and alternatives to Jet A1 fuel to be able to go from prototype to market. OceanSky builds the business model in the high-end experiential travel market, a sector of the travel industry with strong trends demanding more sustainable experiences.
Today, the airline and travel industry have created cheap flights that are consumed on a regular basis every vacation, despite the fact that this abundance of long distance travel with fossil aviation fuel is unsustainable. With OceanSky, we aim for quality in advance of quantity by creating unique, once-in-a-lifetime experiences with a clear environmental focus where the journey is the goal.
