NetZero® is a climate venture specialising in long-term carbon removal from the
atmosphere
We turn agricultural residues into biochar, a very stable form of carbon. The process
is as follows: plants capture carbon during photosynthesis; we extract and stabilise
this carbon through a pyrolysis process; the resulting biochar is buried in the soil,
safely storing the carbon out of the atmosphere for hundreds of years
The long-term carbon-removal effect of biochar allows to generate high-quality
carbon credits with strong social co-benefits in agriculture and access to energy
We operate a unique model, leveraging proven technologies and own R&D, that
maximises social and climate impact, optimises our economics and allows for scale
Our ambition is to be annually removing over 1 million tonnes of CO2 from the
atmosphere before 2030
We completed 2 financing rounds in 2021 and finalised the building our first full-
scale production facility in Cameroon in October.

The Solar Impulse Efficient Solution label seeks to bridge the gap between ecology and economy, bringing together protection of the environment and financial viability to show that these solutions are not expensive fixes to problems, but rather opportunities for clean economic growth.
