Epic Cleantec is reengineering urban water and wastewater by decentralizing treatment into individual buildings or groups of buildings.
The conventional approach to wastewater treatment is based on antiquated design principles that have not changed in 200 years—which is to say, we move wastewater from buildings to sewers to far-off treatment plants, all at enormous cost and energy expenditure.
As the global population becomes increasingly urban—with current estimates putting nearly 70% of the world’s people in cities by 2050—even greater strain is being placed on this already fragile wastewater infrastructure.
Epic’s decentralized approach will provide a less expensive, easy-to-deploy, and energy efficient solution for urban populations around the world, ultimately showing people that the ‘waste’ in wastewater is not really waste at all!
