About
ECOFLUV is a river freight transport company dedicated to urban logistics from Lyon to Villefranche-sur-Saône. To achieve this, it has commissioned the construction of an electric boat to offer innovative solutions that stand out from existing practices in urban goods transport. The custom-built boat is adapted to access the quays in the town centre, facilitating a modal shift from road to river. It also reduces the nuisance associated with road transport in city centres. In addition, under the French law on mobility, local authorities are being encouraged to introduce sustainable logistics and to include river transport in their plans for supplying wholesalers and retailers, delivering materials or heavy parcels, and removing building site debris. Ecofluv is also investing in the development of a web service capable of providing optimised routes for short-distance transport and deliveries. Until now, there has been no digital solution for locating waterway mooring points for last-mile deliveries.
