Carbon Upcycling Technologies

Carbon Upcycling produces advanced materials like graphene, nanoplatelets, & quantum dots from CO2 emissions.

Carbon Upcycling Technologies (CUT) has able to achieve through with academic partnerships with researchers across North America and, in Spring 2017, became the youngest CO2 utilization company to begin generating commercial revenue (within 2.5 years of starting our operations). CUT has been technically vetted by the Canadian National Research Council, Alberta Innovates, Southern Research Institute, and the Creative Destruction Labs' Scientific Committee. In 2018, CUT was announced as one of the 10 Finalists in the global Carbon X-Prize competition, aiming to vet the world's top CO2-to-value companies. CUT's revenue, to date, has come from a corrosion-resistant industrial coating for concrete which also uses our CO2-derived nanoparticles in its composition.

The MACE (Mechanically Assisted Chemical Exfoliation) process creates a portfolio of nanoparticle powders which have a range of technically-validated applications such as additives in the plastics, coatings, epoxy, adhesives, concrete, lithium-ion battery industries.
