About

Sea Water Air Conditioning (SWAC) harnesses the natural cold of deep seawater to cool buildings efficiently. This reduces electricity consumption and carbon emissions compared to traditional AC systems. After successfully implementing SWAC solutions in French Polynesia and contributing at every stage of the project, AIRARO’s efforts to “export the technology” have led to significant progress. These include studies commissioned by the World Bank and discussions with institutional and energy sector players, resulting in confirmed SWAC projects in both French overseas territories and countries in the Caribbean and Indian Ocean regions. Additionally, AIRARO is actively working to combine its SWAC solutions with Deep Sea Reverse Osmosis (DSRO) systems and OTEC. Given the immense challenges related to energy and potable water, AIRARO provides proven, forward-looking solutions with tremendous potential for the future.
