Electrifying transport with clean energy systems.
To facilitate the transition to a low-carbon economy by electrifying (with renewable energy) one of the most intensive carbon-producing sectors of the economy: the transport sector.
Our strategy is to develop and operate a charging network that will cover all major highways and regional routes in South Africa (18 100km/11 300 miles) with green-powered, ultra-fast charging stations. A network that will enable EV drivers to traverse the entire country.
Using self-sufficient and sustainable microgrids to power our charging network, Zero Carbon Charge would provide EV drivers with reliable ultra-fast charging at 150km intervals on all the main routes – independent of Eskom
To thereby initiate a process by which the SA transport sector has a realistic chance to become carbon neutral by 2050, thereby saving in the order of 0.67 gigatons (670 000 000 tons) of CO2e between now and 2050.
