About

Created in 2020, TrapAparT was created to respond to a call for tenders from the Ile-de-France region, which wanted to improve air quality in underground rail stations. TrapAparT intends to act in different urban areas and in particular on railway networks or on high traffic roads in very populated areas. Today, these harmful microparticles are the cause of respiratory and cardiac problems which cause 8,000 deaths per year in the Ile-de-France region alone. These microscopic dusts come mainly from the friction of the wheels on the rails but also from braking, from the wear of tires on the asphalt of the roads as well as from the combustion of fuel. They are becoming a real public health problem that makes air purification in urban areas necessary. This is why TrapAparT proposes an innovative, ecological and very practical solution. Indeed, TrapAparT has conducted and is currently conducting several experimentation projects, including a double test on the Strasbourg road network on the Avenue du Rhin and the M35 ring road, a project supported by ADEME. The company has also validated the concept of passive filters through experiments carried out in underground railway stations (Gare de Lyon and Gare de Boulainvilliers) with partners such as SNCF and RATP. With large cities considered too congested and where air pollution has become a public health issue, TrapAparT is part of an innovative environmental approach that will be essential in the future.
