Solvatten® is a social enterprise making portable solar powered jerry cans for heating and treating water.
The Solvatten Company has developed and produces the product Solvatten. It is a water treatment and solar water heating in one. The use of Solvatten prevents people from falling sick and improve quality of life. Water and sunlight is all that is needed.
Clean, hot water at home helps realising the fundamental right to live a life with dignity.
The Solvatten technology is available for Governments, UN system, NGOs, and others to insure that poor families have a tool that increase living standards by leap frogging the non-existent electricity grid and reducing the usage of charcoal, fuel wood and diesel. The most appropriate technologies for energy transformation such as grid electricity may not in the medium or short term be the better option. A government investment in Solar Safe Water Heating will pay off economically and socially as it takes the country on the right path towards sustainable development. For every kWh of clean energy that is made available to the benefit of the poor, the bigger the benefit for the society and the planet. Solvatten deliver climate action: 1. Using Solvatten increases the renewable energy share in the world’s energy mix. 2. Solvatten improves energy and water efficiency. 3. It gives direct socio-economic benefits such as better financial situation, a higher social status, a better life-situation for women, better health etc. 4. By letting the trees that would otherwise be used as fuel stay standing, multiple benefits such as increased productivity, improved food supply and capture of CO2 are achieved.
