There are some very large-scale problems at the moment. Aviation's ability to address these is limited by having a pilot on board. For example, spraying locust plagues at night, or aerial firefighting at night, or carrying cargo further and to more remote areas anytime- are all limited by having a pilot onboard. So Skybase was founded in 2017 to "Take the Pilot out of the Plane" through our Drone Upgrade Kit, doubling the utilisation of exisiting assets. We will be TRL 8 by the end of 2021. This has a hugely positive environmental impact, instead of manufacturing new things that are only marginally more efficient, we "turn old into new". For example, using a Drone-Upgraded Aeroplane to control wildfires much faster (24/7 operations instead of 12/7), can dramatically reduce carbon emissions, also protecting biodiversity and communities. For aircraft operators (i.e. our customers), now being able to use existing assets during the night can double their revenue (and more than profitability), while also increasing efficiency of flight operations themselves. We can apply this technology to any aircraft, any role, any time. Long term, there are huge autonomy opportunities for Skybase, and in the process, we Unlock Aviation's Full Potential by making aviation a much safer, more efficient and more profitable industry.
