About

Our vision is that people should breathe good air. We will reach this by developing innovative technology that improves air quality and reduces energy consumption in buildings. 92% of the world’s population lives in places where air pollution exceeds WHO limits. An estimated 6.5 million deaths are associated with indoor and outdoor air pollution (WHO 2012). That’s 11.6% of all global deaths. This number is rising. The global energy consumption is expected to rise with 30% between 2016-2040. Today, buildings are responsible for ⅓ of the total global energy consumption. The biggest part of this is due to indoor climate control, or HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning) as the market is called. The demand for HVAC is expected to rise as low income countries, primarily in Asia, will develop and demand better indoor climate as part of better living conditions. The problem is that there is a trade-off between air quality and energy savings. If we want better air quality in a building it will cost energy. If we want to save energy on climate control we will get lower air quality. This is the problem we are solving at Sally R. We develop solutions that improves air quality while reducing energy consumption.
