About

PURPLE ALTERNATIVE SURFACE designs and markets ecological, modular and intelligent solutions for urban pavements with a view to preserving water resources. The company, based in Belfort in the Burgundy-Franco-Comté region, has forged partnerships in the fields of plastics processing and recycling with a view to eco-construction. It operates in a very favourable legislative and regulatory context. The management team, as well as the external contributors, are experienced in the various skills related to environmental protection, recycling and construction. The technological proposal is disruptive and will fully meet the expectations of designers, integrators and public decision makers. A sales force will be set up. The objective is to achieve a turnover of €13M by 2025, and thus to become a reference in this sector of activity with high technical, economic and environmental added value. Soil artificialisation is now one of the main causes of climate change and the erosion of biodiversity. Rainfall episodes are more dense, which increases the risk of flooding. Every year, about 24,000 hectares are urbanised, the equivalent of the city of Marseille. Also, only 9% of plastic waste worldwide is recycled. The rest goes to landfill, incinerators, or worse, is exported out of sight. In France, 30% of plastics are now recycled, and the AGEC law aims to reach 100% by 2025. Based on these observations, the SURFACE ALTERNATIVE VIOLETTE team has developed an eco-friendly, permeable road structure, of which the slab is a component.
