POZZI LEOPOLDO has been manufacturing textile machinery since 1885. Well aware of nowadays’ challenges, with a vision of progress that integrates immediate and longer-term objectives, POZZI has been among the first machine builders to work towards sustainability, designing and constructing energy-saving products. The solutions range from dyeing machines to chemical dispensing systems, from fixing and conditioning machinery to heat recovery units, with RCR being the first rotating energy optimizer ever built to successfully recover heat from heavily polluted water effluents, especially designed for the textile industry, but practically used anywhere there is a discharge of dirty hot water and the will to recover otherwise wasted heat. By patenting the RCR Pozzi has reached far beyond the textile field, so much so that in 2016 the European Union funded R&D of the newer RHeX model of rotating heat exchanger under Grant Agreement n. 727930 of the Horizon 2020 "LowUP" project. Its major benefits are: fouling-proof, pressure resistant up to 5 bar thanks to new design and robotized welding procedure, added pumping action for smooth treatment of viscous effluents, modular assembling of rotor disks (easy substitution in case of damage), overall maintenance-free, increased efficiency even with fluids at lower enthalpy. Fields of applications: textile, food and beverage, tanneries, industrial laundries, tank cleaning, sewage treatment, semi-residential facilities like hospitals, hotels, large buildings and wherever large quantities of very dirty effluents are discharged.
