About

OKAHINA WAVE is the First Eco Friendly Artificial Wave for Surfing. A revolution is underway in the sport, tourism and leisure industries as new generation of artificial wave technologies for surfing are being developed. OKAHINA believes that concrete wave pool technologies are not sustainable and not adapted to the challenges of our time as their ecological footprints are disastrous and their business models are fragile. OKAHINA disrupts these technologies and innovates by creating sustainable surf destinations with positive impacts for the planet. Eco-designed in open-innovation, OKAHINA WAVE is a floating atoll to set up in a natural environment which generates world-class surfing waves while enhancing the aquatic resources that have been degraded by human activities. OKAHINA allows cities, private investors, touristic actors or real-estate companies to create eco-friendly surf destinations, anywhere in the world and regardless of their proximity to the ocean, through the creation of a complete ecosystem of services and experiences around the wave. An estimated 8 billion € “Blue Ocean” global market for which OKAHINA received a “Blue Ocean Award” from the French Ministry of Economy and a "Seal of Excellence" from the European Commission.
