About

Founded in 2020, NEU Battery Materials is a Singapore-based firm that developed patented cutting-edge technology to recycle used lithium batteries. The company focuses on extracting lithium from lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries that are found in electric cars and energy storage systems, which will then be returned to the supply chain. Aiming to be the largest, cleanest, and most neutral source of recycled lithium globally, the firm developed the world’s first patented electrochemical redox recycling method that only uses electricity and water. This revolutionary approach is paving the way for a more sustainable future in LFP battery recycling. NEU Battery Materials is listed in the Forbes Asia 100 To Watch 2024 list that featured Asia-Pacific’s small companies and startups on the rise. Investors in NEU Battery Materials include ComfortDelGro Ventures, SGInnovate, Shift4Good, amongst others. The company has also been supported by Temasek Foundation which provided grant funding
