About

Log9 Materials is a nanotechnology company based in Bangalore (India) unleashing the benefits of Graphene for sustainable clean energy and filtration. Log9 currently holds 16 patents in graphene synthesis and graphene products. Log9 Materials ‘nannovates’ and develops end-user commercial applications of the wonder material 'Graphene'. It majorly works in two broad domains applications of Graphene implementation: energy and filtration. In the energy segment, Log9 has developed Aluminium Fuel Cells for energy storage and generation for both; mobility as well as stationary power use cases. This Novel technology utilises the material’s capabilities to create sustainable energy and reduce the burden on natural resources. 'Aluminium fuel cells' provide a comfortable end-user experience like that of any fossil fuel-driven vehicle and there is no long-term charging hassle. Most importantly, the scope of aluminium fuel cells is not just restricted to powering vehicles; they have the potential to serve as stationary energy sources replacing present-day options of diesel generators and hydrogen fuel cells. Unlike the generators currently in use, these fuel cells do not need purchasing and storing fossil fuels. Instead, they run on water and aluminum, making them a pollution-free and cost-effective power generation tool. Most importantly, aluminum fuel cell technology ushers an end-to-end clean and circular energy economy, wherein clean energy is generated from renewable energy sources (solar/ wind/ hydro-electricity), which is next used to convert aluminum oxide to aluminum. This aluminium becomes a solid, safe and clean fuel which can generate electricity on-demand in an aluminium fuel cell. Following this, you get aluminum hydroxide (oxidized form of aluminum) out of the aluminum fuel cell, which can be converted, back to aluminum again by using energy from wind/solar/hydro. In the filtration segment, Log9 has developed the product PPuF, a material innovation for smoke filtration as well as an Oil Spill management product with 3 times higher absorption capacities than the conventional material, at the same cost. Log9 Materials is also the largest producer of Graphene materials in India. Log9’s core expertise is the ability to customize graphene materials for different applications and develop scaled-up processes for specific applications thus keeping the material costs low.
