About

IBSDF History Any project as a child has stages of its evolution. Birth, development, growth, maturity, old age, death and - a new birth on a new level. Moreover, each of these stages is connected with certain people, events in the surrounding world, internal milestones and universal laws. The Fund's 10-year path can be divided into several eras. BIRTH The date of creation of the International Biospheral Settlements Development Fund can be called 2008. This year the two founders of IBSDF gave birth to a daughter. The birth of a child, like the birth of a global idea, is a key event for every human being on this planet. 2008 was a year of economic crisis for many and a great test. For us, this year has become fundamental in a number of events and decisions, which led to a change in our world outlook and re-evaluation of priorities. We wanted to realize our potential to provide our child with the best. In principle, this is common desire of every realized parent - to give thy child a good life, clean water and air, quality food and education. However, many people on this planet cannot solve this task because of political, economic, social and other circumstances. For us, the realization of this was the beginning of the search for civilizational solutions. Those that would not just change our own life, but also would be in the power to change the life around us. The desire to live in a community of like-minded people, where everyone has not only the abundance of everything necessary for life, but a constant opportunity for education and development, the opportunity to realize their potential. For us, this desire was not a “utopia”, but an intention, which led to the search for ways and solutions. During the search, we have quite well understood the expression of Mohandas (Mahatma) Gandhi "YOU MUST CHANGE YOURSELF THAT YOU WANT TO SEE IN A CHANGED WORLD" DEVELOPMENT We left the capital of Ukraine and went to the Altai Mountains in order to apply in practice the accumulated knowledge and to test the philosophy of creating a sustainable abundant life. Since 2012, the IBSDF has actively participated in the creation of a natural settlement Altai-Zvenigorod in the Mountain Altai in Syberian Taiga. Within a few years, geodome houses were built, riverbeds of mountain rivers were restored, soil was recultivated. Starting in 2014, for 3 years IBSDF supported “The International Settlement’s Founders Gathering” which became the annual event. Several hundred people from different countries of the world became participants of this educational program. They came to the Altai Mountains to learn how to build houses from natural materials, properly cultivate the soil, grow healthy food and provide themselves with energy. They learned to build sustainable communities and manage them. For several years, we were privileged to share our knowledge with people. Moreover our experience has become richer, and knowledge - stronger. 2015 for humanity has become the key to sustainable development - the UN adopted a resolution and approved 17 global sustainable development goals. For the Fund, this year also became important, as we began the development of a global program for the creation of biospheral settlements network, working out the definition of the concept of a biospheral settlement and its consolidation in the international legal and civilizational field. 2015-2017 were the years of big efforts, analysis of the legal international base and international experience, negotiations and discussions at the expert level. The search for solutions led us to elaboration of immediate and strategic goals of the Fund and ways to implement them. EVERY EPOCH HAS ITS OWN TASKS, AND THEIR SOLUTION PROVIDES THE PROGRESS OF MANKIND. Heinrich Heine once said. It became clear that the development of the Fund goes a parallel course with the direction of the UN movement adopted at the level of the government of most countries towards the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. The year 2017 was fundamental for the growth of IBSDF and the realization of its goals and objectives at the global level. We have worked out the concept of a biospheral settlement, as a model of a sustainable community living in harmony with nature. That encompasses the realization of all the Sustainable Development Goals. At the same time, we defined for ourselves a few basic tasks, within the framework of which projects supported by the Fund for the implementation of its program for 2018-2023 are being executed. Finally, the maximum connection and mutual intersection were defined with the following UN objectives: • End poverty in all its forms everywhere • Creating the worldwide biospheral settlements network • End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture • Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages • Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all • Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls • Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all • Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all • Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all • Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation • Reduce inequality within and among countries • Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable • Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns • Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts* • Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development • Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss • Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels • Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development MATURITY Several of our key projects are being implemented directly in Ukraine. The IBSDF is defined in the legal field as a Charity Fund (non-profit, non-political organization) registered in this country. At the same time, we look forward to work closely with international organizations, funds and donors. Moreover, we are building our activity, programs and projects in close cooperation with UN and the government of Ukraine. A number of projects are directly related to world politics and global initiatives. The volume of our budget planned for the next 5 years on the projects devoted to wellbeing of humanity on our planet is about 15 million Euros. Here is a short list of the scheduled programs: • Organization of the Worldwide Tour "Biospheral settlements. Embrace of the world» • Organization of an International Biosphere Forum. • Creation of the world's first Biospheral settlement “BIOpolis” in the Carpathians. • Creation of a biosphere settlements worldwide network. • Publication of a book on sustainable communities of the planet "Total downshifting or full upgrade" on hemp paper. • Creation of a documentary about biosphere settlements • • Expansion of the UNESCO program Man and the Biosphere.
