Addressing the lack of information in the building sector to reduce energy consumption and GHG emissions.

Homeys is a young company providing a SaaS platform that leverages data to allow real estate portfolio managers and HVAC companies to monitor, in real time, the energy and environmental performance of their buildings.
The existing data come from energy meter and we also collect data from IoT sensors to model the thermal behavior of buildings.
The quality of the data treatment and analysis allows the start-up to :
- Classify buildings of a real estate portfolio depending on their needs for thermal renovation;
- Compute CO2 emissions of the building and simulate emissions trajectories depending on settings;
- Identify HVAC settings issues (heating curve, difference of temperature across floors, average indoor temperature…);
- Monitor the comfort in the building and recommend actions to improve it.

Homeys' solution is based on several millions of data point and aims at tackling the lack of knowledge in the building sector, which is the biggest final energy consumer and the largest emitter of greenhouse gases in France. Open data and connected objects are now a major source of information.
By having access to power consumption and buildings’ temperatures, Homeys is able to provide analyses about the structural characteristics of a building and the way to adjust heat systems to avoid energy wastes. These buildings’ modelings are a key leverage for energy savings but also to identify which renovation work should be undertaken to improve the energy performance of a building and thus reduce its greenhouse gases emissions.

Observing energy consumptions in real time and being able to draw paths of energy consumption reduction

Buildings are a huge source of energy wastes. Refrigeration and heating systems settings can be improved to save in average 20% of energy. The savings coming from these improvements can then be invested in renovation actions - still lacking today because of their high cost. Consumption data allow the identification of HVAC settings issues - heating curve, difference of temperature across floors, average indoor temperature…- that can be very easily fixed. Having access to buildings' consumption in real time and being able to pilote the future energy consumptions depending on the meteorological conditions and some settings scenario allow property managers to classify buildings of a real estate portfolio depending on their needs for thermal renovation.
