About
GWILEN develops architectural products from marine resources. The objective of GWILEN is to propose new alternatives for the construction industry, thanks to products created from marine ressources and with a considerably reduced impact on the environment. To do this, we use a resource that is already available to us, dredging sediments, and use a process that does not require high temperature baking, which saves a lot of energy compared to traditional processes.
GWILEN has a positive impact on the environment. Its process preserves marine biodiversity and limits the use of finite resources by recovering marine dredged sediments, which are currently 90% discarded at sea, and then produces with these resources a material without high-temperature baking, which generates 4 to 5 times less CO2 emissions than the production of a terracotta (LCA study 2021).
We are currently starting the commercialization of products for interior design, produced in our workshop in Brest (Fr), and are pursuing our R&D program to develop an industrial solution for architectural applications.
