Ekasi Energy is innovating the way biomass fuel is used for domestic cooking / heating solutions in developing markets.
Cooking with biomass is associated with low efficiency and smoke causing pollution and poor health conditions. By processing biomass into pellets, the biomass fuel becomes homogenous, low in moisture, 3x denser than wood and easily handled. When used in an efficient combustion device such as a fan assisted gasifier stove, the fuel burns evenly, with no smoke and uses less than 50% of the fuel because of the high efficiency. By adapting a strategy of localised biomass pellet production, logistic costs are minimised, local fuel is used and jobs are created. The pellets plants can not only be used for pellet fuel production, but also for animal feeds from agricultural by products and for fertiliser production from animal dung waste mixed with charcoal. Our gasifier stove is modular and its able to be assembled and serviced within the local market by trained technicians.
A Double Pot Gasifier Stove used for cooking and water heating. It is safe to use indoors and is is cheap to run.
The FabStove is a low cost gasifier stove that utilises a a 2 stage combustion process with the help of a small fan. This double the efficiency achieves with the biomass fuel and dramatically reduces the harmful emissions while cooking. The stove is safe to use indoors and the gasifier fits into a stable frame eliminating the possibility of tipping while cooking, reducing the fire risk. The airflow management allows for heat control and makes sure that the fuel is evenly burned.
