About

Econopac is the result of several years of research and development carried out in collaboration with the CSTB (Center Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment) and the assistance of BPI France. "Cave geothermal energy" is in fact an advantageous association between geothermal energy and aerothermal energy. The material used in this innovative application is a quality monobloc type heat pump, developed and perfected in collaboration with an industrialist company. Thermal power range is from 6 to 32kW. This heat pump draws in a completely controlled way the thermal energy present in the air of the cellar, the basement or the crawl space of the house and can collaborate with a heating floor, a network of radiators, or fan coil units. Given this thermal energy drawdown, the ambient air present in the volume cools. But it is recharged advantageously thanks to the natural phenomena of conduction and radiation of the constituent walls of the volume that are its soil, its walls and its vault, which are in permanent contact with the surrounding terrain. It is for this reason that the innovative Econopac process benefits from the combined advantages offered by geothermal energy, but also from those linked to the use of an aerothermal type machine (Air / Water), which in fact gives it a very interesting cost. The innovative Econopac device eliminates energy-consuming defrost cycles by reversing cycles, the use of electric back-up resistors and thus reduces the daily electricity consumption of the heating installation by up to -40% in comparison of a traditional aerothermal solution. The machine then simply uses the energy present in the air in the cellar to carry out the defrosting phases. The annual COP can easily reach 3.5. Systematically and before installing the Econopac device, a digital thermal simulation of the volume of the cellar, the basement or the crawl space is carried out in order to check its thermal suitability with the device. It is a unique, latest generation digital simulation tool that has been developed in collaboration with CSTB. This is a French first! In addition, the installation is reversible and can be considered as a cooling solution in summer, thus ensuring an advantageous thermal recharge of the cellar volume during the summer period in anticipation of the following winter. The Econopac device can therefore be considered for renovation after a case study, but also in the context of new construction work by dimensioning, for example, a volume of basement according to the heat losses envisaged on the building.
