About

Founded in January 2014 by Patrick Robinson Clough, a former Schlumberger engineer and founder of 2 startups, Citygo offers an instant urban carpooling service. The service's innovation lies in the fact that there is no need to plan your journey in advance. This is thanks to its intelligent matching system, its low-power location technology, and its machine learning (artificial intelligence) algorithm that anticipates users' journeys. The app, launched in early 2016, already boasts a community of 600,000 users, the largest in France, enabling residents of the 3 largest cities to travel more quickly between suburbs or to city centres, more ecologically and at lower cost. By putting passengers in touch with drivers travelling in the same direction, the start-up aims to develop mutual aid between citizens in the fight against self-driving cars, and is clearly positioning itself as a key smart city service.
