iNex Circular uses its sourcing technology to support the fight against COVID-19 pandemic

The company wants to build synergies between hydro-alcoholic gel producers and raw material providers.

iNex Circular, a labelled Solar Impulse Efficient Solution, is the first web platform dedicated to circular economy for companies. Through their platform, waste producers can search valuable outputs for their wastes and by-products, by finding companies in need of raw materials. Thanks to these synergies, both producers and users can make savings, establishing a circular process to reduce unused waste (see a recent article about their solution).

Quickly responding to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the French startup has decided to use its iNex Sourcing technology to find raw materials for the production of hydro-alcoholic gel, a key element to fight the spread of the coronavirus. “Many central pharmacies in big hospitals and gel producers are missing the components to make their own hydroalcoholic gel, and they need it desperately,” says Olivier Gambari, the CEO of iNex Circular.

The main raw materials needed to make the gel are the following:

  • Ethanol / Alcohol

  • Isopropanol

  • Hydrogen peroxide 

  • Vegetable glycerol / glycerin

  • Containers such as flasks, jerry cans, cans

Many companies in France and Europe are in possession of these elements and will certainly be unable to use them due to the halt of their activities.
