About

Since 1999, Xerius has established a strong reputation as a trusted company in the defense, aerospace and industrial sectors. Building on its core radiofrequency engineering background, the division Xerius Tracking was created in 2013. Its goal is now to support scientists, organisations and governments in their effort to monitor and protect biodiversity. Xerius develops miniaturised trackers and data loggers using GPS, Argos, VHF, UHF, GSM and RFID technologies. Each technical solution is customised and engineered to a specific customer or scientific need. Every system is designed, developed and produced in-house. This production strategy helps to reduce development time and costs. Today, Xerius is one of the leading international company supplying smart, small and reliable tracking devices. Nowadays, the pace of technological innovation keeps increasing. It is impossible to stay still while continuing to be a dependable technological partner. Continuous innovation is not only necessary but vital. This is why our team explores new materials and techniques continuously. We are also curious to integrate these new findings in our latest wildlife’s application. When interacting with scientists, Xerius often starts with: “Do you have a dream… and would you like to share it with us?”. We want scientists to continuously stretch the limit of what they can hope to reach. Xerius wants to help scientists for quickly improving wildlife knowledge because we have to hurry ! ***

Weighing from 18 grams, Alteos includes four technologies: Argos, GPS, VHF and solar. This tiny system dialogues directly with the Argos satellite network. Furthermore, thanks to VHF system (USB Key Lite or USB Performance), you can now remotely upload and download Alteos without having to catch the bird. Alteos gives information about bird’s movements and allows scientists to study their patterns. When sets with high performance mat solar panels, the life spam of the battery can reach up to 3 years. Xerius R&D has modified the reflectivity of these panels to maintain the natural camouflage of the bird and ensure its safety. The proprietary antenna is ultra-flexible, making it, unique in the world. Alteos product range varies between 18 grams and 100 grams. The user can program the time slot during which the data are captured. This could optimise battery usage for example. As every Xerius Tracking product, it is adaptable and can be customised to your need and the species to monitor. Xerius will advise on the system impact so that users will always make an informed decision. Thanks to the technological advances gained through the pioneering work of Xerius with its Defense and Aerospace partners, the features of Alteos are yet unmatched.
