Windlux, based in Eindhoven, Netherlands, offers the Green Column, an innovative and sustainable street lighting solution powered by wind and solar energy. Designed for off-grid locations, it provides reliable illumination without relying on traditional power sources. The micro wind turbine starts generating energy at wind speeds as low as 2.5 m/s, while an integrated solar panel ensures continuous energy supply. A maintenance-free battery stores excess energy, providing backup power for up to 14 days. The system features high-output LED lighting, reducing energy consumption and minimizing light pollution. The Green Column is cost-effective, eliminating the need for trenching and grid connections, making it ideal for parks, pathways, and parking lots. By reducing CO₂ emissions, it supports the EU’s 2030 climate goals. With easy installation and low maintenance, Windlux’s Green Column is a future-proof lighting solution for sustainable urban development.
