Blue Ocean is a EUR 170m venture capital fund investing in innovations that help regenerate ocean biodiversity. The fund counts Ifremer, France’s leading ocean research institute, as a scientific partner. Blue Ocean aims to deliver both systemic impact and competitive market returns. It focuses on solutions to the three main threats to the ocean: solutions to overfishing, solutions to ocean pollution and marine-based solutions to climate change. The fund has made 17 investments since its launch in 2021. It was recognized by the World Economic Forum's Uplink as a Top Innovative Fund for our Future.
Blue Ocean is managed by SWEN Capital Partners, a leading European asset manager dedicated to sustainable investment in private markets, with over EUR 8bn of AUM.
